This picture offers a lot to the viewer. At first glance, it could be considered simplistic, but when one really looks at it, there is a lot on display. All the pieces intertwine and react with each other, creating an appealing whole. The twirling thorns and scattered petals frame her well with a physical and coluor coordination that simply works. It was clear that you had an idea, and were able to bring it to life.
Now, you've made this subject work really well for you, but this cannot overcome the fact that roses, bones, and a pale girl are far from original material. This category is saved by the unique bit of flair that you seemed to have instilled throughout the piece, making it your own. To describe it, it would be better than the sum of its parts.
You clearly have a greater than average degree of technical skill. There are points that showcase vast amounts of talent. They appear in the face and hair, bits of bone texture, and the many leaves. However, some areas near the lower region of the picture look less refined. This also carries over into the structure of her upper arms, which don't quite look like they belong on her frame.
As stated before, you really breathed life into this picture. It is arranged in a very aesthetically pleasing way, making great use of negative space and contrast that keeps the viewers attention. Personally, I adore the skeletal hand genially offering a rose. Little details such as these keep entering my eye that adds to the piece. Her vacant expression, hinging on something more emotional, enhances the atmosphere brought by her surrounding items. So, in combination, all these factors create something not perfect, but still exceptional.
I personally believe that this artwork is simply stunning, a large amount of work as gone into this, and if this isn't the case, I wouldn't have thought otherwise.
It also creates a sense of emotion and upon looking at this amazing artwork, I must say I get a feeling of intense sorrow and regret, and it lingers in the back of the mind as well, causing a deeper affect then a simple passing glance, however, fear is not an emotion caused by this drawing.
The roses also cause a feeling of longing, for what is completely opinion based, but based on your series, perhaps a longing for death?
Your shading on this is....amazing, everything looks completely natural, as if it were done by a professional painter . The bones are proportional and correctly designed, and they also add to the simple, yet awe-spiring beauty of this artwork.
Over all, a lovely piece of work, and I highly hope that you keep this up
